Amy Shankleton-Novess' career started as judicial secretary/court recorder at 14th District Court in 1979. She's been certified continuously since then. She left her official reporter position with 22nd Circuit Court in Washtenaw County, Michigan to establish Modern Court Reporting (MCR) in 1988.

Amy Shankleton-Novess is a life-long resident of Washtenaw County, as are many of our staff. We'll gladly serve your needs in southeastern Michigan: Washtenaw, Monroe, Lenawee, Jackson, Livingston and Wayne Counties-and farther if you just ask!

All of our certified electronic court reporters and transcribers have taken and passed the mandated Supreme Court certification test. Our experience totals over 200 years.

Amy has mentored over 25 aspiring court reporters; 14 still report or transcribe for us. Some have English degrees; one has a Master's; some are former schoolteachers. We offer only quality transcription and professional deposition services. All transcripts are proofread at least twice against the recordings before being released by our expert team.

We have 25 years experience in providing expedited transcripts, and dealing with appellate procedures, paperwork and deadlines. Michigan statutory requirements allow only transcripts signed by certified reporters to be filed in courts.
